Huang He is Associate Professor at the Department of Urban Planning, Tsinghua University, China. She was awarded Bachelor of Architecture, Master and Doctor Degree in Urban Planning and Design at School of Architecture, Tsinghua University successively. She worked as a visiting scholar at Penn Design, University of Pennsylvania in 2009. Huang He is the deputy secretary general of Institute of Urban Design in Architectural Society of China, deputy director of Institute of Urban Regeneration and Planning implementation in Committee of Urban Planning Society of Beijing, the member of Industrial Heritage Committee in Chinese Society of Cultural Relics, the editorial board member of Urban Design Journal, and the member of Beijing Culture and Creative Industry Experts Panel.
Huang’s research and teaching interests mainly in urban design, spatial planning for cultural resources, including culture heritage conservation, cultural infrastructure supply and cultural & creative industries promotion. She has published numerous research articles, including the representative book “Cultural Planning: Urban Integral Development Strategy Based on Cultural Resources” in China Architecture & Building Press 2010. With her leadership, “Research on spatial distribution mechanism and the spatial layout model of the Creative and Creative Industries: Beijing as a Case” was sponsored by the Chinese National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2016. Being a core member, Professor Huang participated in several international and national urban design competitions, such as urban design competition of Tongzhou Beijing Sub-center, planning and design of Xiong'an New District, urban design of Capital Steel Group District.
